Surfers against Sewage Workshop
The Ocean School
Oak Tree School were very proud to partner up with Surfers against Sewage, a wonderful charity that seeks nothing less than thriving Oceans, allowing life to live to its fullest. The education team within Surfers against sewage offered students the chance to take part in the Ocean School on Tuesday May 7th, which was quickly seized upon!
Ocean School isn’t just an educational program; it’s a journey of discovery and empowerment. Held on local beaches of Cornwall, Ocean School is designed to provide young people from under-resourced backgrounds with an immersive experience that fosters a deep connection to the marine environment while empowering them to protect it.
Their aim is clear: to give participants the tools they need to thrive both mentally and physically, while instilling a sense of stewardship for our precious coastal ecosystems. Through mindfulness activities, beach clean-ups, and rockpool rambles, participants not only learn about marine conservation but also experience the therapeutic benefits of spending time by the sea.
Everyone at Oak Tree School is so grateful to Surfers against Sewage for putting on such an enriching experience. Everyone (staff included) had a fantastic time and we are already looking forward to the next available workshop.
